Plans, Purpose and Milestones.
This is a 2023 roundup for THA Cleaners.
When I was starting THA cleaners, I had a clear cut aim: provide well paying part time jobs for young individuals. How to go about it, I didn’t know. (P.S I still don’t know how)
So I mapped out what was meant to be our milestone for the first 2-3 years.(find attached)

One: Plans Change. Be sensitive to notice the changes and be flexible enough to bend with the changes without losing your original form.
We started out as a cleaning company but this year, we’ve done cleaning, laundry, moving, logistics, branding and even publicity. Thing is, our major goal is to provide temporary jobs, that is why it is first on our checklist. So, we would undergo any job that would help us achieve our primary goal without losing our form which is cleaning.
Also, in our milestones, we had plans to start branching out to other cities by the end of the fist year but by the end of the fifth month, we realized that that would unnecessarily stretch us out and it would also require manpower we don’t have and can’t afford to outsource. Furthermore, we haven’t capitalized on our Abeokuta market yet. Why fight another war away from home when you are yet to win the major war at home?
Like I always say, life is not always 2+2=4.
Two: Understand that you might lose or worse, fall terribly short of your yearly target. We were aiming for roughly 600 customers for the first year. But we barely passed 100 customers.
But compared to last year, we did an x10 in revenue. We might not be where we want to be, but we are definitely not slacking off.
Moral; if you feel you are not doing your best, check your year to year statistics.
There was also a period of 4-8 weeks in total, when we experienced a downturn in business as my phone got damaged and later, stolen. Bouncing back after that period was one of the hardest task we have faced as a team. Majorly because of the fact that people easily move on from one vendor to another. We had to call in favors, owe favors, but majorly, we capitalized on our excellent service delivery and proper customer relationships by our team of cleaner.
Extra: Learn to say No. If the offer is not good enough, if you are not comfortable with it, if you are not feeling up to taking the other. SAY NO!!!
This year, we turned down three offer to partner with different laundromats. One major reason was that our goals were not aligned. Another reason was that though the offer was tempting, it wasn’t the best time for us to have that arrangement with other business as we were relatively a newcomer into the business. We needed to get a firm stand in the market.
Basically, 2023 was a great year, our best yet, but we hope to have you guys with us next year either as a client or a cleaner or a partner as we make 2024 bigger and better.
Oh, and by the way we are running a promo from now till the end of this year. Book a cleaning session and get up to 10 fabrics drycleaned (refer to flyer for more information).
Till the next Chronicle, Love and Light. (if Nigerian Babes and NEPA allows
