I Love You, So I Have To Leave You.

I think I’ve said it before that I am a pretty laid-back guy. I’ll take anything from you except when you threaten my sanity. I saw this meme recently, and it prompted this piece. 

Saying people only leave, in this context, abandon, people they are using is grossly untrue and a poor attempt at excusing personal responsibility. It belongs to the same group chat as “she is a woman, ignore her,” and “she, and occasionally he, doesn’t know what they are doing”.

This week, at the expense of jobs and tasks I needed to do, I decided to go through my contact and blocked list on WhatsApp, and I realised that I do not have the circle of friends, should I say acquaintances, that I brag with anymore. lmao, my social skill is gone, but then, I digress.

Anyway, back to the issue at hand, I’ve had to leave friends, partners, lovers, even family members I actually love, because if I can’t be confident you won’t drive me insane and turn back and call me madman when my insanity was your doing. 

I left a love life because I could not deal with the noise and she seems to thrive in it, clearly we both want different things. I loved her, I still think about her but I’ll never go back to her. 

A friend left me because I’m too disorganized and I didn’t look like I was going to change. We loved and respected our friendship but it clearly won’t work. 

Yes, users leave people, but it is grossly stereotyping to say everyone who leaves you is a user. Let’s be honest, your bad behaviour and your big stomach is chasing people away from you, and you might be too blind to see it. 

Hit the gym, sis/bro, work on yourself, and people won’t leave you, this is also for me.🙃
